We’re pleased to announce you can now use Zamzar to convert two of the most popular CAD (Computer Aided Design) formats around – DWG and DXF – which are both used in AutoDesk’s hugely successful AutoCAD program.
Converting these files can be useful if you need to share them with friends or colleagues who don’t have AutoCAD installed – Zamzar now allows you to convert them to the following formats:

We’ve been working hard here at Zamzar to round out our support for Microsoft Office 2007 files, and we’re pleased to announce that you can now use Zamzar to convert “pptx” files generated by Office 2007 to a variety of different formats, including “ppt” (enabling you to view and edit your presentations in older versions of Microsoft Office) and “odp” (allowing you to use OpenOffice).
A variety of other formats are also supported, enabling you to convert your pptx files into whatever format is most useful for the program that you happen to be working in. The full list of supported formats is below:
- html – Hypertext Markup Language
- odp – OpenDocument presentation
- pdf – Portable Document Format
- png – Portable Network Graphic
- ppt – Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation

Convert xlsx files to xls, ods, csv, doc, html, mdb, pdf, rtf and xml

Comments (28) You can now use Zamzar to convert “xlsx” files generated by Microsoft Office 2007 to a variety of different formats, including plain old “xls” (enabling you to view and edit your spreadsheets in older versions of Microsoft Office) and “ods” (allowing you to use OpenOffice). Conversion happens online and is completely free !
The new 2007 “xlsx” format is based on open XML standards, but is incompatible with older versions of Excel. To get round this problem you can simply head over to Zamzar to perform conversions from “xlsx” to any one of the following formats:
- csv – Comma Separated Values file
- doc – Microsoft Word Doc
- html – Hypertext Markup Language
- mdb – Microsoft Access Database
- ods – OpenDocument spreadsheet

We’re rolling out new formats all the time here at Zamzar, but we’d thought we’d take the chance to remind you of one of the most popular conversions you can perform – You can use Zamzar to convert pdf files to doc, html, odt, pcx, png, ps, rtf or txt … all online, and all for free !
The PDF, or Portable Document Format, was introduced by Adobe in the early 1990s as a means of displaying documents in a consistent manner across any computing platform, and guaranteeing that complex graphics and diagrams remained accurately represented wherever the document is viewed.
One limitation of the PDF format however is the time-consuming process to open up and edit PDF documents.
