Use Zamzar to convert XLR to XLS, XLSX, PDF and more
You can now use Zamzar to convert XLR files into a variety of different file formats, including XLS, XLSX, PDF and more !
Microsoft no longer support XLR files or Works Spreadsheet or Chart file’s as they may more commonly be known in their latest versions of Microsoft Office – both Office 2007 and Office 2010. We’ve got a great new addition to our conversions here at Zamzar. You can now convert your PDF files into a whole plethora of eBook formats.
An eBook (short for electronic book, a.k.a. digital book, ebook, and eBook) is an electronic text version of a conventional printed book. Usually read on dedicated hardware devices known as e-Readers or eBook devices (Amazon Kindle, Apple iPad), PC’s and some phones can also be used to read eBooks. With the advent of these eBook readers a number of specialised eBook file formats, have appeared on the scene.

We’ve had teething problems with some of our eBook conversions, so have had to temporarily stop them. They should be back soon though – we’ll post here when they are.

We’ve just added the ability to convert EPS files to PDF using Zamzar, online and for free.
As we mentioned on Tuesday when we announced the ability to convert EPS to other image formats, Encapsulated PostScript is a popular a graphics file format, designed around the PostScript specification, often used for vector and bitmap graphics artwork.
However PDF is becoming increasingly popular as a replacement for the EPS format, mainly due to its versatility as a delivery format for sending complete publications to press, for soft-proofing, distribution on the Internet, and file archiving.

You can now use Zamzar to convert Microsoft Works Spreadsheet (wks) files to xls, html, pdf, csv, and ods formats (amongst others).
We’ve been beavering away here at Zamzar HQ to extend the range of conversions we support and we’re pleased to announce that wks – a popular Spreadsheet format generated by Microsoft Works software can now be converted.
The WorKSheet (wks) file is a proprietary format used by Microsoft to save spreadsheets out from Microsoft Works. You can now use Zamzar to convert those files into any one of the following formats:

We’re pleased to announce you can now use Zamzar to convert two of the most popular CAD (Computer Aided Design) formats around – DWG and DXF – which are both used in AutoDesk’s hugely successful AutoCAD program.
Converting these files can be useful if you need to share them with friends or colleagues who don’t have AutoCAD installed – Zamzar now allows you to convert them to the following formats:

Great news ! We’ve been working hard here at Zamzar to round out our support for Microsoft Office 2007 files, and we’re pleased to announce that you can now use Zamzar to convert “pptx” files generated by Office 2007 to a variety of different formats, including “ppt” (enabling you to view and edit your presentations in older versions of Microsoft Office) and “odp” (allowing you to use OpenOffice).
A variety of other formats are also supported, enabling you to convert your pptx files into whatever format is most useful for the program that you happen to be working in. The full list of supported formats is below:

You can now use Zamzar to convert “xlsx” files generated by Microsoft Office 2007 to a variety of different formats, including plain old “xls” (enabling you to view and edit your spreadsheets in older versions of Microsoft Office) and “ods” (allowing you to use OpenOffice). Conversion happens online and is completely free !
The new 2007 “xlsx” format is based on open XML standards, but is incompatible with older versions of Excel. To get round this problem you can simply head over to Zamzar to perform conversions from “xlsx” to any one of the following formats:
