We’re excited to announce Webhooks are now available in the Zamzar file conversion API! 🌐🪝
Ever wish you could know as soon as your files finish converting, without the tedious business of constantly polling an API? Our brand-new Webhooks feature is designed to give your applications real-time updates on file conversion jobs.
Gone are the days when you need to ask, “Hey Zamzar, is my file done yet?” 🤔 Our new Webhooks capabilities mean you’ll receive instant notifications whenever a file conversion finishes, ensuring your apps can be leaner, faster, and more event-driven.
What are Webhooks?
Simply put, Webhooks are automatic messages the Zamzar API sends directly to your app when certain events happen, like a completed file conversion job. No more polling APIs; now the updates come to you! Your app or service can receive messages, pushed out to you via a simple HTTP request, without needing to setup complex monitoring on job statuses.
Why use Webhooks?
- Real-time Notifications: Instantly know when your conversions are ready. No more waiting, guessing, or constantly pinging the server.
- Event-Driven Efficiency: Make your application architecture smarter and cleaner by adopting an event-driven design, resulting in more efficient resource use and quicker response times.
- Effortless Administration: Manage your Webhooks effortlessly through our intuitive admin console. Easily add, edit, and track Webhooks without hassle.
Easy Set-Up & Management
Our admin console makes setting up Webhooks a breeze. Just add your Webhook URL, verify your endpoint, and you’re all set. You can track Webhook calls, inspect payloads, and quickly debug any issues through a straightforward and intuitive interface:

Secure and Reliable
Security is paramount, and our Webhooks feature is built with robust protection. Each new Webhook must first be verified by the endpoint owner, ensuring you are in full control. Every Webhook notification comes securely signed, allowing you to confidently verify that messages are genuinely from the Zamzar API. Our admin console also allows you to add multiple webhooks, and pause or delete your webhooks.
Getting Started with Webhooks
You’ll need to create a specific endpoint, reachable over the Internet and capable of receiving HTTP POST requests over HTTPS from the Zamzar API. Check out our detailed documentation here to get started, or get in touch with our dev team if you need any help!
Happy converting … and now happy webhook-ing!
