Convert AVI, FLV, MOV, MP4, MPG, WMV files to WebM

We love supporting new file formats and when Google announced an initiative for a free and open video format we wanted to jump on board to help adoption.

The team that created WebM have been pioneers in video codec development for over a decade. WebM delivers high quality video while efficiently adapting to the varying processing and bandwidth conditions found on today’s broad range of web-connected devices. WebM’s efficient bandwidth usage will mean lower serving costs for content publishers and high quality video for end-users.

We are therefore very pleased to announce that Zamzar now supports conversion of all of our video formats into the new WebM format.

You can now convert all of the following video formats into the new WebM (Web Media) format:

  • 3g2 – 3GPP2 Multimedia File
  • 3gp – 3GPP Multimedia File
  • asf – Advanced Streaming Format (Microsoft Corporation)
  • avi – Windows video file
  • flv – Flash Video
  • gvi – Google video file
  • m4v – MPEG-4 Video File
  • mod – Hard disk camera movie
  • mov – Apple QuickTime Movie
  • mp4 – MPEG-4 Video File
  • mpg – Moving Picture Experts Group File
  • rm – RealMedia Streaming Media
  • rmvb – RealVideo Variable Bit Rate File
  • vob – DVD Video Movie File
  • wmv – Windows Media File (Microsoft Corporation)

Why not head over to Zamzar to try these out now ?

Should anyone else have any suggestions for formats we should consider feel free to contact us at support (at) Zamzar.com.

Happy Converting !

I have two suggestions for video formats: amv and smv.
I have these devices with video formats and can not find a converter online. Thanks!
